Listen to This: Spanking Live Drums
I have a new video for you guys today demonstrating how I typically implement parallel compression on my drums in a live mix. It’s not necessarily the way to do it, but it’s how I do it and how it contributes to the overall sound of drums in a lot of my mixes.
It’s a longer one as I demonstrate a few different compressors, the difference between using multiple groups/busses for parallel compression vs. using a wet/dry knob on the compressor, and what to listen for to make sure you’re not running into phase problems.
